Our Team

Frontline Innovators was founded in 2025 by a group of trainees from McGill University, the University of British Columbia, and Harvard University, in partnership with the Clinician Investigator Trainee Association of Canada (CITAC).

Our Core Team

Our leadership team brings together medical trainees and early-career researchers who share a passion for strengthening the physician-scientist workforce in primary care.

Monica Taing is an MD student at McGill University. She is passionate about the intersection between clinical medicine and medical education entrepreneurship. In her free time, she enjoys reading non-fiction books, writing prose and poetry, exploring the city, and keeping up with tennis.

Anthony Zhong is an MD-MPH student at Harvard University and a public health researcher. He is passionate about strengthening primary health care systems and confronting transnational health risks through science and policy.

Chloe Gao is an MD-PhD student at the University of British Columbia. She is passionate about eliciting experiences of diverse communities into mental health service redesign. Outside of medicine, she enjoys distance running, rowing, dancing, and CrossFit.

Our Advisory Board

Our advisory board is comprised of physician, scientists, and educators dedicated to guiding the next generation of primary care leaders. Advisors represent diverse disciplines, including community practice, rural medicine, and medical education, reflecting the breadth of primary care innovation in Canada.

Our Ambassadors

Our Ambassador Team is made up of undergraduate student representatives from across Canada. They lead outreach and community engagement efforts, connecting students who share an interest in primary care research.
